- Application Process - Clean the wood surface thoroughly, removing any dirt, grime or old finishes. Ensure the surface is dry before application. Dilute the concentrate with 2 parts water to 1 part concentrate. Stir well to ensure a uniform mixture. Pour the concentrate into a separate, larger container (preferably a 5-gallon bucket or larger) first and fill the original can with the necessary gallons of water. Pour each into the larger bucket containing the concentrate. This ensures the accurate 1:2 mixing ratio. General stirring and/or shaking is adequate for proper dispersion of the pigment.
